A year has gone by, oh my we are so sorry, but like many slightly neglected blogs it was because the Parkes Camera Club members have been so busy.
As our AGM was this week, lets reflect on what an amazing year we have had as a club.
In August we prepared for the Parkes Annual Show with our photography pavilion. September found us winning for the second year in a row the WDACC – Western District Association of Camera Clubs. There was a mad prep before Christmas hit, as we had our first Elvis Festival Exhibition in January. Using photos we had taken at last years Elvis Festival. While running the Exhibition many members also took photos at the Elvis Festival as we were official photographers for the second year. We then were asked back to Trundle in April, for the second year, to photograph at the Abba Festival. A marquee was put up at the Northparkes Open Day in May and a few volunteers passed out our schedule in the hopes of getting more keen photographers. While all this was going on in the last year we still had time for great practical nights and monthly competitions.
Our committee and members are an amazing group. So amazing that the calendar for the coming year is looking very similar. Much planning was discussed at our meeting before we finished off with an Architecture photo competition.
Our members brought in 3 of their favourite photos of architecture to show, and these are our winners.
Beginner Winner – Rosemary Richardson
Intermediate Winner – Jim MacKay
Advanced Winner – Barry Green
