At the last AGM meeting it was agreed that we should invest the money from membership fees into some new equipment for the club, just in time for the upcoming portrait night and a few other indoor practical nights. We purchased a studio lighting kit with 3 heads, 2 soft boxes and 1 umbrella. A backdrop kit was also kindly donated to the club which will come in very handy.
It was a bit of trial and error getting the right settings to go with the lighting equipment because of the huge range of cameras and lens combinations that we see at the club, but after a little adjustment with each camera and positioning of the lights we managed to get a well lit shot from everyone.

We would also like to say a huge thank you to our two patient and obedient models on the night Joanne & Steve, who without we would have not had such a successful night. A big thank you also goes to Keith Turk for letting us share his candid shot from the night. Hopefully by the time the liquid night comes up we will all be experts at lighting :).
If you would like to join us at the Parkes Camera Club the next meeting is on Tuesday the 4th June, held the the Parkes Neighbourhood Centre at 7:30pm. We will be holding a portrait competition, so bring along your top 3 portrait shots. This will be a great opportunity to learn about what makes a great portrait. Hope to see you there!
