It has been a while since I have blogged but there has been lots going on at the club, including selecting the shots for the upcoming WDACC Interclub competition, the AGM and the purchase of some new lighting equipment to use on practical nights.
During the first meeting in May we held our landscape competition and 18 people entered and many more came along to see what people were taking. Landscape photography is a category that most of our members enjoy taking and viewing so there was lots of input about why people liked certain images and what jumped out at people in each category. We also had another first time member win in their category, which is very exciting. Congratulations to Don.
Advanced Winner – Frances Thornton
Julie Brown is famous in our club for her monotone images, they are always eye catching. On this particular night there was a lot of talk about the fish shaped cloud that reflected in the water in the image above. You can check out the best shots from each entrant on facebook. Please note that all images are Copyright and remain the property of the photographers.
If you would like to join us at the Parkes Camera Club the next meeting is on Tuesday the 4th June, held the the Parkes Neighbourhood Centre at 7:30pm. We will be holding a portrait competition, so bring along your top 3 portrait shots. This will be a great opportunity to learn about what makes a great portrait. Hope to see you there!
