Given that the last competition of 2012 was also wildlife we weren’t sure how many entries we would get just 5 months later. But there was plenty to look at with 20 participants and over 50 photos to view. The night was made even more amazing with 3 new people claiming the top shot in their categories. One set of amazing shots in the beginner category from Katrina Mudiman was even taken the same day, showing that wildlife can be found all around us, we just have to look for it.
The following shots were the winners on the night
Beginner Winner – Katrina Mudiman
Intermediate Joint Winner – Karen Cox
Intermediate Joint Winner – Lisa Ward
Advanced Winner – Joanne Strom
A lot of people showed great interest in Joanne’s frog peeping out of the water tank shot, you may like to check out her facebook page for more amazing animal shots Cowbrough Photography. You can also check out the best shot from each of the entrants on facebook. Please note that all images are Copyright and remain the property of the photographers.
If you would like to join us at the Parkes Camera Club the next meeting is on Tuesday the 16th of April, held the the Parkes Neighbourhood Centre at 7:30pm. We will be viewing and selecting the top shots from members for the Western Districts Associations of Camera Clubs Interclub competition. This will be a great opportunity for everyone to look more at the technical aspects of photography and what judges look for in photography competitions. Hope to see you there!
