To build on the previous meetings learning we followed it up with a Night Photography competition. The idea was to encourage members to use their new skills, which resulted in a great turn out of 19 entrants. Given the topic of night photography might seem limiting, but the range of images was great and included night scenes, light painting and astrophotography.
The level of entries across all categories were amazing and you could tell people really put a lot of effort into what they presented. This presented a problem because it made it hard to determine a winner in all categories. Even selecting the top shot from each entrant was difficult and everyone should be proud of what the entered regardless of how they fared in the comp.
Beginner – TeAnau Dolbel
Intermediate – Julie Brown
Advanced – Tim Ruckley
You can check out the best shot from each of the entrants on facebook. Please note that all images are Copyright and remain the property of the photographers.
If you would like to join us at the Parkes Camera Club the next meeting is on the 19th of March, held the the Parkes Neighbourhood Centre at 6:30pm. We will be completing a photo scavenger hunt which will hopefully get people thinking out of the box, click on the link to learn more. Hope to see you there!
